Pictured is the Vincent Thomas Bridge. The Vincent Thomas Bridge is a 1,500-foot long suspension bridge, crossing the main channel of Los Angeles Harbor in Southern California; the largest sea port in the United States. The bridge links the berths of San Pedro, Los Angeles, with Terminal Island. The bridge is part of State Route 47. The bridge opened in 1963 and is named for California Assemblyman Vincent Thomas of San Pedro, who championed its construction.

Some notable facts about the bridge:
- The bridge has been named the city of Los Angeles� official welcoming monument by the Los Angeles City Council.
- The bridge is featured prominently in several scenes in the 1985 film "To Live and Die in L.A."
